I build MightyMouse. These are the things I have worked out along the way.

I make MightyMouse, a Mac app that pairs your iPhone to your computer as a trackpad and a microphone, and transcribes what you say on your own machine instead of sending it to a server.

Everything on this blog comes out of building that. When something surprises me, or takes me a week to work out, I write it down here so the next person spends an afternoon on it instead.

I write these myself and I check the claims against the code before they go up. If something here is wrong, I would genuinely like to know.

Everything I have written

• Use OpenClaw from your phone OpenClaw answers you in WhatsApp or Telegram. It still runs on your Mac, and the moment it needs something only your Mac has, your phone is stuck outside.
• Use Hermes Agent from your phone Hermes Agent remembers what it learns. It does not, yet, have a way to reach you when you are not at the keyboard.
• Check on Paperclip from your phone Paperclip does not run continuously. It wakes on a schedule, does a batch of work, and goes quiet again - often while you are nowhere near your Mac.
• Run any terminal AI agent from your phone Every few weeks a new AI agent launches that runs on your own machine instead of someone else's server. Every single one has the same gap: no phone app.
• Approve an agent from your lock screen An agent that stops to ask you something is not slow. It is just waiting for a person who is not there yet.
• Dictate anywhere on your Mac Talking is about three times faster than typing. The catch has always been where your voice goes to become text.
• Run coding agents from your phone The problem with a coding agent is not that it is slow. It is that it stops, and you are not at the desk.
• Why dictation breaks over SSH It works in Mail. It works in Slack. You SSH into a server, start talking, and nothing arrives.
• Hands-free dictation on your Mac Push-to-talk dictation has a hidden requirement: a hand free to hold the key down. The moment your hands are full, or you are pacing around thinking out loud, that requirement is the whole problem.
• Use Meta Ray-Ban Display with your Mac Out of the box the glasses talk to your phone, not your computer. That is the gap this closes.
• Sidecar for iPhone The short answer is no, and no setting will change it. The longer answer is that the thing people actually want is still possible.
